What is the A. R. E.?
The Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc. (A.R.E.) is the international headquarters for the work of Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), who is considered the best-documented psychic of the Twentieth Century. Founded in 1931, the A.R.E. consists of people from all walks of life and spiritual traditions.

The National A.R.E. organization offers membership services and benefits including a bi-monthly magazine, a newsletter, books and publications, extracts from the Cayce readings, conferences, international tours, a massage school curriculum, and a retreat-type camp for children and adults.

What is the Heartland Region?
The A.R.E. Heartland Region was established in 1990 to serve the membership in Illinois, Indiana, Eastern Iowa, Western Michigan, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Northeastern Missouri, and Wisconsin.

The Heartland Region provides programs, seminars, retreats and workshops in a variety of settings and assists in starting and nurturing study groups.

The Edgar Cayce Holistic Center of the A.R.E. Heartland Region is located in the Unity Northwest Church, 259 E. Central, Des Plaines, IL. The Center houses the Region Bookservice, offering books and products for sale. Call (847) 299-6535 for hours when you may visit the Center.
